Keep the amount of ketchup and mustard you put on things like sandwiches or low-fat hot dogs to a minimum. Each condiment you add should be seen as calories poured directly on your food. Limit the amount of condiments you use, they contain empty calories. Try and drink 8 glasses of water each day to assist in your weight loss. Drinking a lot of water prevents you from filling your thirst with sugary drinks like soda. These sugar based beverages will add a significant number of unwanted calories to your normal daily limit, and hamper your weight loss efforts.
It can be hard to eat more veggies and fruits if you are not used to it. Freezing them, if feasible, is one way to have them available as last-minute meal additions. It is easy to put together a good meal if you keep some frozen veggies around. Then you have no excuse to resort to unhealthy eating!
